The Albuquerque Prayer Transformation Council exists to promote the transformation of the City of Albuquerque and its surrounding areas through the power of Jesus Christ activated by the prayers of His people.  The members of the APTC represent a variety of churches from various denominations and traditions.  We are united in our desire to see Godís power manifest in this city working in and through His Church.  Because we believe that united prayer is a major key to this transformation, we seek to promote prayer across the entire body of Christ.

Although we may occasionally sponsor prayer events, our primary focus is on networking with other believers to identify prayer events and resources that are already being planned by other organizations within our city.  As we build this network, we expect to achieve the following goals:

  • Serve as a clearinghouse to publicize information about prayer opportunities, such as National Day of Prayer, Global Day of Prayer, Pastor's Prayer Summits and others
  • Identify and Encourage Church Prayer Coordinators throughout our area
  • Participate in area-wide prayer events and initiate other prayer opportunities as led by the Holy Spirit
  • Sponsor an annual city-wide prayer gathering
  • Create a network of prayer coordinators and intercessors for communication and mobilization
  • Support the New Mexico Prayer Transformation Council
  • Albuquerque Wall of Prayer

Because we believe in the power of 24x7 prayer, we have setup a Wall of Prayer, which divides each week into 168 hour-long time slots.  You can sign up as a group or individual for one or more hour slots each week.  By viewing the Wall of Prayer, you can see which slots have not already been claimed, so that you can "fill in the gap" to build a Wall of Prayer that covers the entire week.  As you sign up, please consider this a commitment to the Lord and to the body of Christ to faithfully pray during your hour slot, unless prevented from doing so by factors outside your control.  Together we will ìstand in the gapî for our city.

If it seems beyond your ability to pray for a whole hour, there are some resources that can help you.  Furthermore, you can subdivide an hour slot into 30-minute or 15-minute segments with a group of your praying friends.   Remember that the Bible itself contains many prayers that are appropriate for any believer to pray, and the Psalms represent a large collection of wonderful prayers.  We will provide a new prayer focus for each week to guide your prayers.  As you build a prayer list and consider the many needs within our city, you may find that an hour is not enough time to cover them all.  You will find the joy of scheduling time in God's presence each week.
